The Toro 6.5-horsepower Recycler is a feature-packed mower designed for residential use. The mower's Personal Pace system automatically matches the mower's speed to that of the operator's walking pace. The Recycler's warranty states the engine will start with two or three pulls for up to three years or the company will make corrections or repairs for free during the period.

  1. Stand behind the Recycler mower in the operating position. Place one hand on the handlebar. Look down the right handlebar and locate the handle for the starter pull cord.

  2. Grip the handlebar and starter pull cord firmly, then pull the starter cord back toward you. Release the cord slowly without allowing it to snap back forward. Pull the cord up to two more times to start the mower.

  3. Check the mower for fuel or a loose spark plug wire connection if the mower does not start after three pulls on the starter cord. Contact the store where the mower was purchased or the manufacturer for repair options if the mower will not start.

  4. Start the mower with the electronic ignition if it has been so equipped as an option. Look on the left side of the handlebar for the switch and key. Grip the handlebar firmly and turn the key until you feel resistance. Hold the key for no more than three to five seconds and release when the engine starts.

    5. Tip

    Although additional pulls may start the mower, the included three-year warranty states that repairs will be completed as part of the Guaranteed-to-Start feature.
