If you'd like a user flair reflecting that. Here's the post.
I kind of wrote it as a step by step how to along with explaining the technical reasons for what is happening. Sorry for the lateness of the post, I've been busy. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
You can get the recompiled executable for Scarface here: This precompiled version already has the 4GB patch applied as well so just set up the configuration options as below and you should be good. As a follow-up to my previous post here, I'm going to show you a few ways you might be able to get some otherwise broken games running. You will want to use per-game settings to take advantage of the tips in this thread.
This will get technical and the main points will be in bold so if you want to skip the technobabble, you can. Any files needed for these fixes will eventually be in my FTP folder.
Scarface Original status: In-Game - crashes nearly as soon as the player has control, massive graphical issues New status: Fully playable - no crashing, graphical corruption fixed, smooth playing music. I can hear people asking it already. 'Why don't you just play the PC version?' Well, we could but it crashes on multicore systems so you can either fix up the PS2 version or set your PC to single core mode and reboot every time you want to play. Lagu dangdut koplo sisa sisa cinta mp3.
I don't consider that an option, so. Okay, there's a lot to get done here, so let's go. The first thing you'll notice when attempting to run the game is that you get in-game with some really weird vertical stripes.
Almost as soon as you start playing, you get a prompt explaining how to launch into Tony's Rage mode and the moment you do so, the entire game crashes. First thing's first, if you followed the above post whatsoever, you'll know that the first issue Scarface has is that it appears to require more RAM than a 32-bit application can access and it is the reason for that very early crash in the game.
Let's fix that. Step 1: Patch PCSX2 to use 4GB of RAM Use the 4GB patch () on your copy of PCSX2. Once it is done, you'll see that you are no longer crashing when trying to activate Rage mode. You still have the graphical corruption followed by the game slowing down to a crawl repeatedly before going back to fullspeed. Again, repeatedly. Step 2: Set PCSX2 to use Software Rendering Regardless of which video plugin you are using, switch to Software rendering instead of hardware rendering.
I'm using the GDSX plugin in DirectX 11 mode and upon switching from hardware rendering to software rendering, all graphical corruption disappears. You can press F9 to temporarily swap between hardware and software rendering, but you will want to select it properly in the GDSX plugin options window. Alright, so the game is looking a hell of a lot better, but it's clear that the sound is kind of running slowly and robotic and the game's framerate goes from smooth to less than a frame per second every minute or so and pausing before returning to fullspeed. The game isn't easily playable like this so let's figure out what is going on. If we set the game to windowed mode (Alt-Enter) and pull up the process manager (Ctrl-Shift-ESC), we can take a look at PCSX2's RAM usage as we play. Something you'll notice is that PCSX2 is allocating huge chunks of RAM to itself repeatedly, bloating the RAM usage.
As the RAM usage goes up, PCSX2's framerate drops. At about 1. File Scavenger 4 3 Keygen Crack Serial Number. 5GB of RAM used or so, you'll see PCSX2 will completely freeze for a few seconds, PCSX2 will free a LOT of RAM and the game goes back to being smooth for a few seconds before more and more RAM is allocated again. What's going on here? Scarface does some weird stuff with the PS2's vector units, forcing it to constantly recompile the VU programs being sent to them.
As these programs are recompiled, they take more and more memory before PCSX2 says 'we've hit a limit, dump it all'. Most of the time, PCSX2 can handle caching these VU programs without a problem as it grows the cache when needed, but Scarface goes into overdrive. So what we really want to do is to limit the amount of RAM PCSX2 will use for caching VU programs. The PCSX2 team has said they will not be allowing users to change how much RAM is used for VU programs so we're going to have to do it by hand. Step 3: Recompile PCSX2 with lower VU cache limits.or use a copy of PCSX2 already recompiled with the lower cache limits. Okay, this is a bit outside the scope of this document, but fire up Visual Studio 2010 with a full copy of the PCSX2 source code. Make sure you are already able to compile PCSX2 before attempting the below.
(Check the PCSX2 wiki for info on how to get set up if you want to do this manually.) In the PCSX2 source tree, head to /pcsx2/x86/ and open up the microVU.h file with a text editor and make the following changes: static const uint mVU0cacheReserve = 64; // mVU0 Reserve Cache Size (in megabytes) static const uint mVU1cacheReserve = 64; // mVU1 Reserve Cache Size (in megabytes).to. Static const uint mVU0cacheReserve = 10; // mVU0 Reserve Cache Size (in megabytes) static const uint mVU1cacheReserve = 10; // mVU1 Reserve Cache Size (in megabytes) Recompile PCSX2, enter the bin directory in the source tree, rename the pcsx2.exe file to pcsx2scarface.exe and copy it into your current PCSX2 emulator directory. (Again, when the new PCSX2 version drops, I'll put my pcsx2scarface.exe into my FTP directory so you don't have to do all this.) Step 4: Reapply 4GB RAM patch to our recompiled PCSX2 Can't forget about doing this again though it shouldn't be an issue anymore. Do it again anyways, just as in Step 1 but this time to the newly created pcsx2scarface.exe.
(The version that will be in my FTP folder will already have this step done.) Okay, so at this point we have a game that has no more graphical corruption, no longer crashes and should have far less skipping and stalling all over the place. Step 5: Set SPU-X audio plugin to use Async sound Enter into PCSX2's plugin options for SPU-X and set synchronizing mode to Async Mix. Sound and music should now be far smoother than before. Okay, so there you have it. Scarface fixed as best as possible. Hopefully you'll be able to use some of these techniques to fix other games you are having problems with.
Make sure you are using per-game settings and apply these to just Scarface. EDIT: Set the window size to Widescreen and turn on the widescreen option in game for. Good luck getting this to run in pcsx2.
I can't help you much there, but I did find instructions for how to fix it to run on modern Windows: Here is solution to get this game work on any system whatsoever (VISTA/7/8 32/64bit OS) - download DirectX analyzing software and run game through it, choose the location of the Scarface installation directory and the press 'launch' to start game. Alternative method - Advanced users only: Most of the computers nowadays have multi-core CPUs. However Scarface, was designed to run only on one core CPUs. You'll need to configure your operation system to use only one core of your core CPU. Click the start menu button on the bottom left and type in the Search Programs And Files Field 'msconfig'.
Select Configuration. Go to the Boot tab and click the Advanced Options button.
Tick the Number of Processors option and select 1 from the drop-down menu underneath. Click OK, then OK again and you have configured your PC to use only 1 core of your CPU. IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to revert back to the default settings after you are done playing Scarface. All you need to do now is run Scarface in Windows XP Compatibility mode. Just right click on the Scarface shortcut and select properties. On the properties screen go to the Compatibility Tab and check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' option and select Windows XP from the drop down menu below. Click OK and start the game • • • •.
This isn't rocket science. Its simple to get this game to work & you have 2 methods in which to do it. A rebuild isn't required for either; 1. ZoneLoader Method. Download the ZoneLoader DVD version, burn to a good quality blank DVD. Boot ZoneLoader after Swap Magic DVD, then switch to scarface backup (also burnt to good quality media) Play game.
Editing SYSTEM.CNF method. Extract the iso from the archives with WinRAR.
Open the iso with Apache (v2 or 3 it doesn't matter) Right click the SYSTEM.CNF file & extract it (keep Apache open) Open a blank notepad & drag & drop the SYSTEM file into it. Edit the boot line as previously shown, then save it by changing the save as file type tab in notepad to 'all files' & save as SYSTEM.CNF, choosing to overwrite if prompted. You can now close notepad. In Apache again, right click SYSTEM.CNF, and choose to 'update file', browse to your previously extracted & edited SYSTEM.CNF file & click ok. Apache will tell you the file has been updated. Close Apache with the red X in top right corner.
Burn iso to good quality media & boot with Swap Magic as normal Play game. Cost is irrelevant, you could waste up to 159 blank DVDs before it ends up costing you the same as the game would to buy. You wouldnt waste any if you use the best media, and a little common sense. Burning games is as easy as drawing a picture of a square. You just need the right tools for the job.
Click to expand.ok I just finished with my backup a few hours ago and haven't had any trouble with playing it. I have a slim ps2 w/ flip and swap magic 3.6. I am using windows xp sp2. I did get the same error message, so this is the way I did it: 1. Rip with dvd decrypter 2. Open image in apache 3 3.
Extract all files to a folder on desktop 4. Open that folder and open notepad 5. Drag system.cnf from folder into notepad 6. Edit the first line by adding a 1 at the end (BOOT2=cdrom0: SLUS_211.11;1) 7. Click 'save as' and make sure you change file type to all files, then save as system.cnf 8. Click ok to replace existing file 9. Open $ony cddvdgen 2.0 10.
Click create new project 11. Click dvd-rom master disk 12.
Open the file folder and drag the items in one at a time in this order: *SLUS_211.11 *SOUND.RCF *SYSTEM.CNF *IRX *CEMENT.RCF *MOVIES.RCF 13. Click volume tab and enter 'slus' in first box of disc name. In second box enter '21111'. Enter playstation in producer name. Click record and select location. Click ok to 2 error messages.
Click file, export image, and select location again. It will make a bunch of files wherever you told it to save.
You don't need the.iml,.ims, or.lst. Open CDDVD Generator by JRLS and add all the files ending in numbers(I had sf.000, sf.001, sf.002, sf.003) you can hold ctrl and click them one by one to add them all at once. Then type the name for the iso file and click build. Burn with imgburn at 1x links for programs, all free: dvd decrypter: apache 3 (important:when you open it, it will ask if you want to download the new version.
Just click the x to close it, not ok, and it should then have a box that says it is freeware): $ony cddvdgen 2.0: CDDVD Generator by JRLS: imgburn.
