Hi all, I might be able to help.. I'm getting the same problem as you all with the game being in Russian. If you only want to figure out how to get it to work, skip to the third section, lol.
I did a little digging. There's a SETUP.INI file included in the download which is a configuration file for the setup. Open it with Notepad and it'll tell you 'EnableLangDlg=Y', which means the setup SHOULD prompt you on which language you want to install with. The problem was that I didn't notice this because the setup process wasn't in English but in Question marks (so I presume in Cyrillic/Russian, and my PC couldn't display it?) Like, instead of words, it just displays '???????? ?????? ??? ????????? ? ??????' etc. etc. SO I didn't notice when I was prompted. But it's there.
To set the game up in English, get to the second page of the setup process. There should be two choices in a table, each of which can be highlighted: one that looks like 'Aieeeneay aadney, 600 la' on top and one that looks like 'Donneay aadney, 600 la' on the bottom. The TOP option is English ('Aiaeeeneay'). Bumble your way through the rest of the setup and you should be OK. I did, opened the game, and it's in English.
This MIGHT not work for you because your PC might show the Question marks differently.

In install set up for English click the B's as it is automatically on A's which is in Russian. It is that easy.

Matlab app designer uitable properties. As a simple workaround you can create a new function called 'setandvalidate' in this function you can call 'set' command and after that you can call the 'validate' function which you wanted to use for validation.

Since there is no folder called 'Install' I'm trying to copy the English folder to all different Setup folders. The folders respond immediately, by opening the game in Russian anyway!!!
There is probably something simple I am not seeing, but is there any way to change the settings to Russian? What I'm reading here doesn't work!

Copy the folders located in the (eng) folder to your install folder (say yes to replace). Then the game switches from russian to english :)

Luckily, the graphics are so colorful and detailed, the soccer match itself is fun to sit through.

If you are a dedicated soccer fan, very into the statistics and players of your favorite team, then this game is for you. If you enjoy strategy games and are bored with planning campaigns against foreign armies or invading aliens, then this game will also appeal to you. But, if you love a thrilling game of soccer and like to have control of every ball that comes your way, then you may find this game doesn't hold your attention for too long. Even the eight-player multi-player option and the free bundled gamepad may not make F.A. Premier League Football Manager 2000 as addictive as it could be.

And that is a great shame because a great deal of work has gone into the game and it does grow on you.

Sound: Authentic match sounds and voices.

Enjoyment: Control during the actual matches is not as good as it could have been.
